What's wrong with palm oil?Updated 8 months ago

Let's start with what's great about palm oil - it's brilliant for manufacturers - it's relatively cheap, it's largely odourless and tasteless and it does exactly what you want it to do, both in the manufacturing process, and in fooling your mouth into thinking you're eating something creamy.

However, it doesn't taste nearly as good as real organic dairy.

And, why use palm oil which is transported half way round the world, when you can use delicious cream from organic British farmers?

Apart from saving all those food miles, unsustainable palm oil production has been responsible for huge amounts of deforestation, which has had severe consequences on animals (in particular orangutans), the environment and local communities.

We are all about creating delicious products in a fair and sustainable manner, using ingredients that are locally sourced wherever possible, and with the smallest impact on the environment that we can manage.

Let's be clear, our chocolates would be a lot cheaper and easier to make with palm oil - but they wouldn't be nearly as tasty.
